The Figure in Transition

September 16 – October 16, 2021

Stremmel Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new works by Linda Christensen, on view from September 16 through October 16, 2021.  This will mark Stremmel Gallery’s second exhibition featuring Christensen, a California-based artist.  The artists’ reception will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021.  Both the exhibition and reception are free to the public.

“Ultimately, my work is a series of self-portraits. I know those poses; I’ve shaded my eyes, I’ve collected on the beach. Therefore I don’t closely study how to ‘draw’ the figure. I don’t necessarily want to get everything ‘right,’ or ‘follow the rules,’ as in my childhood. I want the freedom to show you the flaws and imperfections. I want to feel the emotion that comes with being human, and I want you to feel that too.”
