Ahren Hertel, featured in Stremmel Gallery’s “UNR Emerging Artists” show back in 2009, has developed a new body of work that visualizes the everyday damage we do to the environment in his latest exhibition “Sticks and Stones”. The series depicts a group of women who are making direct attacks on nature using sticks and stones, weapons often used by children to infer a kind of playful violence as they begin to understand their power in the world. “Sticks and Stones” is on view at The Holland Project from May 14 -June 8, 2012.
