“I have painted the forests, mountains, and the light of Alaska and the North for almost half a century, and I am inspired by new things every season. During the summer, I am grateful for the soft, ethereal light of the wee hours when the rest of the world is dark. During the winter, the moon casts shadows of the trees on the snow at midnight, and the dawn that breaks each morning over the Alaska Range on our southern horizon beams colors unseen at any other time of year. These paintings are all about the wonder and the drama of that changing light – the light of the North.”
